Consulting vs. Supplemental Staffing

Our goal has never been to provide supplemental staffing services or to 'place' our people within an organization structure. Instead, our services are intended for short-term or intermittent use: a single project, or as-needed on an ongoing basis. Our purpose is to provide services to the existing personnel and infrastructure of an organization, rather than trying to supplant or restructure what is already in place.

Certainly the cost of a consultant is higher, on a per-hour basis, than a full-time employee. Hiring a consultant for long-term, full-time projects (for example, forty hours per week for six months or more) usually costs a great deal more than simply adding another employee to the staff.

Consulting makes sense when:

• The need is short-term or intermittent
• The requirement for expertise is higher than can be cost-justified for a full-time employee,
• Management is unable to justify the added load of additional staff, or lacks the specialized knowledge needed to properly manage the details of a project, or
• The company cannot cost-justify an additional full-time employee for information services.

Hardware Sales

We do not generally sell or provide computer systems except at the request of customers. Instead, we prefer to supply our customers with contact information for vendors who can sell it to them at a reasonable cost. This enables us to maintain our objectivity and concentrate on which solution gives our clients the best value for their money instead of, perhaps, which solution might generate the most revenue for us. It also allows us to keep inventories consisting only of parts that may be needed, rather than keeping full systems on hand.

Rates and Billing Policies

In general, Enter-Networks performs work on a time-and-materials basis. In specific cases where a defined project with clear-cut scope is in place, where all recommended hardware and software is employed, and where all resources are available, Enter-Networks may, at the customers request, decide to provide a maximum number of hours spent on a project or quote the project at a fixed cost. Otherwise, all work is billable at the following rates:

• Standard Rates: $90/hour
• Overtime Rates: $135/hour

Overtime rates may apply to work performed outside standard business hours at the customer's request, work that by its nature must be done outside standard business hours, or to work performed for emergency situations that require rescheduling of another client's project on less than twenty-four hours of notice. The decision to charge overtime is at the discretion of the engineer performing the work, and may be waived by that engineer if extenuating circumstances prevail.

All qualifying new or prospective clients are entitled to receive a free telephone or on-site consultation during which an engineer may visit your site, examine or discuss your network infrastructure, and make recommendations for how to proceed. Contact us today to see if you qualify.

Clients who are outside the Greater Kansas City area (defined as what would normally be the local calling area) may also be charged travel time or mileage if extensive driving to and from the site is required. Alternatively, the customer may be charged a per-diem equal to eight hours of standard rates for projects that involve air travel or last more than one day. Travel arrangements, accomodations, and costs are typically provided by the client; if Enter-Networks must make out own arrangements these expenses will be reimbursable.
